I picked up my first Kodak box camera when i was 12. My Mom often carried a Pentax in a soft green corduroy bag & my Dad kept a tiny Minox, a small chromo spy camera from Germany about the size of a Harmonica. For me, photography has always been a spiritual pursuit. How to find the God in everything and even when it was no where to be found, to try and understand the process of seeking. In my opinion, great photography is all about 'Chasing Down The Light'. Light is always there. Toujour le meme mas toujour le difference; a simpre lo mismo pero a simpre el differente. I picked up my first SLR in a tiny second hand shop in upstate New York when i was 18. I have also shot on a Lomo (Russian Spy Camera) & the infamous Hasselblad (Swedish). My formal art education includes an 'old school' photography/darkroom class at McGill university's education dept. in 1994 & a year of Design Theory at Kwantlen University College in 1997. I also studied Multi Media with Clipper Pictures 2000 in the UK & Graphic Design (Photoshop & InDesign) at Excel Collage in the Comox Valley. Viable O was founded in 2010 when my son Corbeau was in pre-school at The Lighthouse. I have been enjoying taking wedding photographs for 5~* seasons. My favourite things to photograph are shoes & wildflowers. I also like windows & doorways. I shoot on a Mark II 7D, a beat up 6D &a 5D Mark iii full frame. I like to edit on Ribbet & sometimes Picmonkey. I am an Environmentalist & feel that photography without nature would be less therapeutic. Nature is the true lens with which to see.
