So what exactly was protested today? Untimely destruction of planet earth, alive & beautiful: Rivers, Lakes, Animals, Forests & Wildflowers. As Greta Thunberg mentioned lately, climate change is not so much of a question in her mind as a fact. Who can argue that these things are now being taken, altered & sometimes if not often, irreplaceably eradicated? How can we continue to teach our children that this is ok? We can't. We have to be honest with them & explain to them carefully that the planet is now theirs only for protection. However way this can happen, it simply must. Today's small protest is only the tip of an iceberg of what can happen if we put our passions back into creating a sustainable future for everyone. And.... If we listen to the hearts of our children, many will lead the way! Autumn. Grade 9. Cumberland School. Spokesperson for planetary alignment. I sometimes wonder at how amazing Cumberland would be if we made Ginger Rogers Way (Dunsmuir Ave), a zero car oasis. Parking & Riding is really a good way to go. Amos, Local Poet & Activist.
